What is a shared session?
During a shared session multiple composers are booked for a single day (typically for 30 mins time slots) and record with the Mill Scoring orchestra. It is the best solution when the composer does not need to have a complete soundtrack recorded, but a single track or a short cue.
How can I book a shared session time slot?
Please use the form below to send us a request. We will get in touch with you within 1-2 business days and support you in setting up the prerequisites. One of the most important factors is to determine how many players and what instruments are needed. Our professional organizer colleagues will guide you through a simple and short process. How much music can be recorded during the booked session?
You can book up to 6 time slots (3 hours) on any shared session days. The net recording time in a single, 30 minutes-long time slot is 25 minutes. When you calculate how many time slots to book, please keep in mind that the best sound can be achieved if the different passes (e.g. woodwinds, strings, brass, etc.) are recorded independently. This way you will have total control over the recorded cue. In case your project is budget-sensitive or for a special reason should you need the whole orchestra to be recorded at the same time, that can be organized as well.
Is it possible to participate in the recording session?
We provide the opportunity to view your recording session(s) via Source Connect. To access your feed, you will need a Chrome browser and a microphone to communicate with us. We are also happy to arrange your stay if you are willing to participate in-person. (Please note that travel and accommodation costs are not included in our fees.)
What is the price of a single shared session time slot?
We have pre-calculated two different setups for the shared sessions, that you can see below. Please note that we are fully flexible with the required number of players, so in case you need more players or want to record with only a few instruments, we can organize that too.

How do I need to pay for the booked session(s)?
For shared sessions, we require advance payment.
Wired transfer: We suggest using Transferwise for transferring the payment to us, as the wire transfer costs are the lowest there. In case you prefer another provider/bank, let us know and we will figure out a way to make it work for you.
PayPal: We will provide you with all details in our answer to your booking.
